KLX230 Heavy Duty Skid Plates – Aluminum – All Year Models

Heavy duty KLX230 skid plates for all year models (2021-2025) available in two variations:

1. KLX230 Skid Plate – Short.

Heavy duty aluminum skid plate to protect the engine case. Available for old and new chassis models.

2. KLX230 Skid Plate – Long Linkage Protection.

Heavy duty aluminum skid plate extended to protect not only the engine case but also the rear suspension linkage. Available for old and new chassis models.

FITMENT – OLD VS NEW CHASSIS:

There are two chassis designs for the KLX230. The old chassis design applies to all 2021-2023 models, plus some 2024 models.

The new chassis design was introduced to the North American, Australia and New Zealand markets in 2024. However, in other markets, such as Thailand, the new chassis was not introduced until 2025. The KLX230 which has been newly released in India for 2025 is a new chassis model.

CHECK FITMENT BEFORE ORDERING:

Check fitment by looking at the direction of your front skid plate mounting bolts. If the front mounting bolts point front-back, then you have the 2021-2023 old chassis. If the front mounting bolts face to the sides of the bike, then you have the new chassis and should select 2024+.
