KLX300R Manual Idle Adjustment Screw
$39.00 USD
KLX300R manual idle adjustment screw to fix high idle and variable idle problem.
Some models of the KLX300R come with an automatic variable idle feature which can result in problematic high and irregular idle patterns. Override this feature with this idle adjustment screw which allows you to adjust the idle level manually. No ECU modification necessary.
Free international shipping. Variable colours.
FITMENT: KLX300R models with ISC valve 16126-0729. Does not fit KLX300 dualsport models. PLEASE CHECK THAT YOUR MODEL OF KLX300R USES ISC valve 16126-0729. If your bike has an external idle adjustment knob on the throttle body, this part will not fit.
Installation Notes
- Remove the seat and undo the fuel tank bolts and move the tank slightly out of the way. It’s not necessary to disconnect the fuel line and fully remove the tank.
- If unsure of the location of the automatic idle adjustment unit (ISC valve), you can watch the beginning of this video at 1:12.
- Replace the automatic idle adjustment unit with the manual idle adjustment unit. This is a simple process requiring the removal of two screws on top of the automatic idle adjustment unit. Note that the OEM screws have security torx heads.
- There is a small pin inside the hole where the idle adjustment unit plugs in. Make sure that this pin lines up with the long slot in the end of the manual idle adjustment unit.
- Do not unplug the sensor from the original automatic idle adjustment screw, as this will cause a Check Engine Light. Instead, leave the original automatic idle adjustment screw plugged in, seal the unit in plastic, and tuck it up out of the way (e.g. ziptie near the fuel tank).
- Run the bike and adjust the idle up or down as desired by turning the screw head. If the idle adjustment is not working, see step 4 (i.e. is the pin lined up with the slot?).
- Reattach fuel tank and seat. Ride.
